An Important Meeting

I was waiting in an empty classroom for Draco. Today I was going to tell him everything I've been thinking. I was looking out the window and didn't even hear the door open. I jumped when someone whispered my name in my ear. Then I heard Draco laugh.

"Not funny. You scared me half to death."

"I thought it was. You should have seen you jump. So what did you want to talk about? You said it was important."

"It is important. The Christmas dance is coming up and I was thinking that maybe we should let people know that we are dating." I waited for his reaction, though I knew what it was going to be.

"Are you mental? You know people will say about us. They won't approve of it."

"Who cares what they think? What we think is the only thing that matters in this relationship."

"I just don't think it's a good idea."

"Are you worried about your reputation? Is that it? Draco Malfoy is this tough Slytherin pure blood and will become a laughing stock if people found out he was dating a Gryffindor half blood."

"No, that's not it."

"I think that's exactly what it is." I said getting angry. "You don't want to lose your reputation. You don't want people to know that you have a soft side."

"Pan..."

"Maybe you don't really care about me. Maybe you are just using me."

"I swear I'm not."

I thought I heard something so I looked around, but didn't see anyone. Then I looked at Draco. "Can you look me in the eye and say that you don't care what others think of us?"
