Joanna's arrival

Joanna walked in her bag over her shoulder and ready for the start of her new job, but that wasn't for a whole day. She had arrived early to check out the area and who she would be teaching and teaching with.

So far she had not met a single soul and so decided to head for the bar for a drink but had decided on nettle tea instead, for she thought, going into a school the next day with a hang over would not be a good idea.

Calling over a woman she smiled and gave her order which came several minuets later.

She sat back and drank her tea waiting for any one to notice she was there.

Ravyn came out of her office, she was only fifteen but she still owned the bar, she noticed the first customer of the say and smiled to her, "Hello" she said pouring herself a glass of orange juice.

Joanna smiled warmly to her "Hi, Erm i noticed you came out the office, do your parents run the bar?" she asked blowing across the top of her tea cup, as she looked at the young girl as she sipped the now cool tea.

Ravyn gave a slight chuckle, "Kind of, My dad bought the bar but gave it to me, he doesn't like running it."

Joanna looked up at her " ow sorry i thought, never mind" she said smiling again " my names Joanna carpenter I'm teaching spells at the school" she placed her cup down and offered her hand.

Ravyn took her hand, "Ravyn Snape, 5th year at the school"

Joanna shook her hand "ah, so I will be teaching you too, nice to meet you." she said " I haven;t been to the school yet, I thought I'd catch my breath here so to speak." she picked up the nettle tea and took a sip " its good, better that i can make" she smiled as she placed the cup down on the bar " so what else is their to do round here?"

"Well, as I'm a student, there's not much to do. I have the choice of being here, Hogsmead or school."

Joanna nodded she understood " but what about the teachers , i guess they just hang around at the school" she said looking up as she blew across the top of her cup again cooling the liquid again inside " and I thought there would be something to do apart from teach" she smiled " guess I'll have to take up a hobby" then shook her head "Na , not me"

Ravyn laughed, "Well, All I know is that my dad stays at the school, so I don't know. Do you know how long professor Flitwick is going to be away?"

Joanna looked up at her " nope " was all she said puzzled at why she wasn't told the professor wasn't there "Humm," she said "Professor Flitwick was supposed to meet me and show me around, guess I'm on my own" she looked up again " do you know what made the professor leave?" she asked not expecting her to know why.

Ravyn shook her head and said, "No" but she lied, Her dad told her everything that goes on at the school expecting her to keep it a secrete, "If he was suppose to show you around maybe he will be here, All I know is that He wasn't teaching this year for some odd reason." She lied again.

Again Joanna slowly nodded as she sipped her nettle tea "guess I just have to wait and see since i wasn't due to arrive till tomorrow" she reached into her pocket and took out a small book , opening it she read for a second , glancing up she smiled " sometimes even i need to remember things i forget, so Ravyn have you seen any of the other students?" she lent forward with a smile " and are there any i should watch for"

She laughed, "Yeah I meet a few." The school year hadn't even fully started and it was off to a strange start. She had found out she had a twin sister and her dad wasn't her dad. "I guess there are two you should watch for but they don't show their face much, Abbigale LaVon, and Chadrick Manning."

Joanna sat back her hand brushed over the page of her book and the names appeared, she chuckled " so I don't forget" slipping the book back into her pocket she finished her tea, suddenly the door opened and in padded a small dog around its neck sat a small tube inside a note, Joanna turned and smiled even broader " Jessy, what have you brought me" reaching down she slipped the note from the dogs collar and sat back up while the doge lay next to her on the floor.
opening it she read then slipped it into her bag she had brought.

"so whats good to eat today since i'm not in a hurry" she said as she finished her tea.

"It depends on what you lie. Anything we sell is good!"

Joanna thought for a moment " how about a bacon sandwich " she said " ow and a bowl of water for Jess, then i guess i must be heading up to the school "

Ravyn called to the Chef, "Bacon Sandwich, and make it snappy." she then went to the sink and got a bowl of water and handed it to her.

Slipping from the stool she sat on, she took the bowl and placed it on the floor for the dog , who drank his fill. Joanna rubbed behind it ears and sat back on the stool. "Thanks, he gets thirsty after a long trip" she said her eyes looking glancing around the bar as she spoke.

"I bet," she said placing her sandwich on the counter in front of her. "He;s cute!"

Joanna smiled " he is but some times he can be really annoying" she smiled as she passes a piece of bacon to him





Jess the dog

Joanna looked at her and smiled " I'm a bit out of my depth, to be honest i have never taught in such a big and prestigious school before" she said taking a bite from her sandwich "this is good" she said pointing to the sandwich , Jess pawed at her leg " here you go" she dropped a second piece " no more you'll get fat" she said with a chuckle.

Ravyn smiled, "Thanks, My cook is the best." she said looking behind her.

Casey was hungry, he had left the school to go get something to eat, granted he was already sick of hogwarts food. He spotted a bar and walked in. Looking around he smiled.
